About Us

We’re AFK – a charity that supports disabled and autistic children and young people to be independent and live their best life.

We’re here for anyone up to the age of 25 across the UK who needs a specialist piece of mobility equipment, whether that’s a powerchair so they’re able to get to school, an adapted car seat to give extra cushioned support, or a sports wheelchair so they can play basketball.

In North London we work with schools and colleges to introduce disabled and autistic young people to the world of work and to support them into paid employment, working with our Job Coaches on interview techniques and travel training. Each young person needs tailored support and we ensure they are helped every step of the way.

10 tickets could go towards a ‘World of Work’ session whereby local SEND pupils learn about opportunities for employment after school.

20 tickets could go towards a Job Coach providing one-to-one tailored support to a young disabled person on their journey in to paid employment.

40 tickets could help us maintain mobility equipment for disabled children and young people. We are one of the only charities that also maintains the equipment we provide.
