As we get closer to Remembrance, we reflect on the sacrifices made by our Armed Forces community. We’ve been providing lifelong support to serving and ex-serving personnel and their families for over 100 years. You can help them too by entering the Winter Poppy Raffle. For many of them, their bravery came at a price – and every single day, lives like Ben’s are beginning to fall apart. But however a veteran’s suffering starts, your support can help to stop it

Payment for raffle tickets is by debit card. We can no longer accept credit cards.

You are the power behind the Poppy.

Entering our Winter Raffle is a wonderful way to support members of the Armed Forces community in urgent need.

Former RAF Telecommunications Operator, Ben Constable, turned to the RBL after being left homeless and penniless following the death of his grandmother, whom he had cared for. With nowhere to go, the 46-year-old spent several weeks sleeping in a tent behind a golf course in Fleetwood. The RBL stepped in, helping him secure a flat, cover rent and bills, and even fund training for a new career as a Personal Trainer.

When Ben later faced isolation, depression, and financial struggles after work in a hospital dried up, the RBL supported him again with rent, food vouchers, and utility bills. Thanks to that ongoing support, Ben has rebuilt his life and now works for the NHS as a Senior Health Care Assistant, with ambitions to qualify as a nurse this summer.
